Mike, I have an Apple Watch, which does ECGs and monitors for arrhythmias. Did you happen to compare the Kardia 6L with the Watch? Update: I see the Kardia is 6-lead whereas Apple Watch is 1 lead. Wonder how much difference that makes?

The Apple Watch is only a one-lead ECG, but I've asked AliveCor to send me their KardiaMobile® Card for testing which is also one-lead. We have a family friend who's a cardiologist so I can get some practical feedback from him as well.

It is important to understand that the subscription is NOT needed to make the unit work, or even for the app to work or, as you noted, Mike, for you to be able to send a recording to your own doctor. The subscription is a type of AFTER support, if you need such and wish to make use of their staff doctors and nurses.

On a more personal note, thank you for telling us about this unit. I ordered one immediately. The price is an absolute steal.

Hi Mike, Kardia 6L is a great product! I got mine a couple of years ago when I had some heart issues. Met w Cardiologist, got lots of testing and ever wore a monitoring vest for several days but couldn't nail down actual instance of Afib. I bought a 6L and was able to record an Afib instance and send an EKG to the Dr. Got an ablation and all has been well since. (PS - I have the basic subscription version)

But, since the medical system still uses faxes instead of email, I had to set up faxing capability from my phone. Maybe things are different with your Dr., but this is definitely something a user should work out before it is truly needed.
