Mike, I have a Davy Crockett pellet grill by Green Mountain Grills. It's a 'portable size'; for example the legs fold up and it has a carry bag. The best part, however, is that it runs on 12v. It comes with a power brick so you can bring 120 down to 12, but it also has a cig lighter end to run it direct on 12v. I love this while boondocking, as it saves the inverter and power brick losses. After the 5 min or so ignition time, it uses very little power and my lithium batteries don't even seem to notice it is running.
Hey Mike, how about your wife's recipe for that sourkraut and pork dish you mentioned? Maybe she should have a side page on your blog of all the good stuff you get to eat and talk about. Sharing is caring.
I’m smoking two racks of ribs on my Z-Grill this Sunday using a modified 3-2-1 method. And I’m measuring battery energy usage for the entire process. I’ll write up the recipe and smoking time/temps as a sidebar article. 😋
