I already covered that here. Let me take a look this afternoon and post a link.

Thank you for the great information.

I recently used an article you wrote about to install a 50 amp RV connecton, installed a breaker at the RV box to cut the power while plugging into and removing the power cord.

That’s a nice touch to have a breaker available next to your 50Amp RV receptacle. What kind of box did you use?

One more thing about this, it’s an AC WORKS RV/EV 14-50R 50-Amp Adapter (3-Prong 30A Dryer Outlet to 50A RV/EV) with both a neutral and a ground.

Two things... First, it’s been a long time since I plugged my motor home into a 20 amp GFCI at home and I believe that the inverter/converter does not live well with a GFCI protected circuit, it would trip it every time.

Second, the 30 amp pedestal wiring back to the central breaker box may only be wired and protected for 30 amps, using a

45 amp dog bone adapter could overload the circuit tripping the main breaker.

The 15/30 amp Y dogbone provides L1 at 15 amps and L2 at 30 amps for the 2-pole, 50-amp shore power cord on the RV. So there’s no actual 45 amp conductor.

Mike, love your column. I have gotten so much out of it. Have one more adapter for you that I used when parked in my brother’s driveway. It’s a 3-Prong 30A Dryer Outlet to 50A RV/EV from Amazon. Provided 30amps to each leg of my 50 amp cord. Do you see any problems here?

Correct however my point is a 30 amp service run from a central breaker box with a 30 amp breaker with 1 hot, 1 neutral, and 1 ground could be overloaded with an adapter that plugs into a 30 amp and also a 20 amp receptacle to provide 110 volts to both side of a 50 amp plug

Mike, Is there a reason you didn’t talk about the 50A to dual 30A adapter in this article?

I have another article covering that. So many adapters, so little time… 😁

For those of us considering carrying a 50A to 30A adapter just in case the 30A pedestal outlet is damaged, do you recommend the single or dual 50A to 30A adapter?

I store indoors at 45 degrees. Get in once month to run gen and engine. May take off in winter. Found trickle charger too complicated. Use "puck" adaptor from 30 amp coach to wall 15 amp. Havent had problrm but chord needs bungy chord due to weight of 30 amp rv chord. Is there a safe recommended brand adaptor for 30 amp rv to 25 amp plug? Thanks.

My typo. Meant 30 amp tv to 15 amp outlet.
