No roofing company should be using aluminum ladders. Criminal negligence. And people wonder why we have workplace regulations. I pray for the families.

I worked for a company that all they had was aluminum ladders. I flat refused to do any electrical repairs that required a ladder. I actually suggested that OSHA would back me up. That then got fiberglass ladders supplied.

Yes, aluminum ladders are prohibited by OSHA for roof work as well as any inside or outside electrical work.

When I was an apprentice in a large shop in NJ 50 yrs ago we got regular visits from OSHA. We had a sign that read " if you think OSHA is a small town in Wisconsin you are in for a big suprise". After a certain political party started to remove its teeth in the 80s they only come around AFTER a workplace death. Aluminum ladders are cheaper until they are not. Shame.
