Actually my first turbo encabulator came as an extra on my 1958 Schwinn bike, mounted to the front fork it could be switched to ride against the tire. I would know it was working because some crazy big light would come on from the flux generation and phase shift when in use. Watching the light and feeling the drag usually resulted in a collision but worth it.
