Sounds like Quartzite was a huge hit for your topics. I would enjoy seeing a streaming event when you do this next year as travel to the Q won't work at the needed time!
Hi Mike. I love the idea of you sharing your vast breadth of RV Electricity knowledge with rally groups. I have a Renegade RV and we regularly gather with others at rallys organized by Jeff and Julie Swartz. The events are supported, but not run by the factory. I’ve handed off a link to this page and suggested they get in touch with you regarding future rally info sessions. Thanks for making yourself available Mike!
We have gone to Q 5 times since 2016, as part of the Escapee group "The Boomers", always staying with this group in "Boomerville" (typically >200 rigs) north of town in our own corner of the desert. Have always enjoyed ourselves there for many reasons:
> To be able to use our Class A rig a it was intended - to Boondock. Fully able to utilize our solar to keep our LiFePO4 batteries charged, and working off our large tanks. We do have to go into town (RV Pit Stop) to bring back jugs of water, and we do usually pay for 1 visit by the traveling "Honey Wagon" to empty tanks mid-stay.
> Group commradery - The Boomers are a very social group with planed activities every day ranging from hikes, to local trips, to at least 2 nightly "rock concerts" where one member has brought out large speakers while setting up a big projection screen to display rock videos so all can dance. Also pot-luck buffets, pancake breakfasts, nightly campfires, discussion groups, travel discussions, etc. Also have had a number of visiting speakers to talk about RV upgrades, installing solar, selling the ART Fridge defend, etc..
> The Big Tent - Have learned that this is not a typical RV show, as there are no manufacturers displaying new rigs. But in and around the Big Tent are tons of other vendors selling all kinds of RV related gear, as you saw. Also there are various presentations (including yourself) and discussion groups.
> Desert Life - I always enjoy riding my mountain bike all the huge desert there, visiting other groups who have staked out their corner of the desert. Many others bring their ATVs to go way out in the desert to visit old mines, collect unique gems and minerals, etc.
Overall - it's just a fun time and a great way to utilize the capabilities of our RV!
Mike, unless something happens, we will be in Quartzite in January '24. We show up with the Foretravel group that boondocks south of Q off LaPaz Road. We would welcome a seminar on electric with someone of your experience. Great idea of a Masters Class at Q next year as well. On line is a great idea for those who can't make the journey!
Would absolutely tune in to a live stream from Quartzsite next year. Not sure that we can make it in person again next year so on-line would be great!!
Live streaming from Quartzsite would be wonderful. Would look forward to it.

Awesome article. My group of solo nomads would be interested in arranging for a 1 -3 hour presentation at Quartzite 2024.
I would be willing and able to live stream the presentation ( using my Starlink and streaming setup).
Please send info.
Thanks and keep up the great work.
Great! I'm glad it went well for you. Hope to see you next year in Q.
I am TOTALLY IMPRESSED with your accomplishments. Hope we'll be able to attend one of your events in person in the near future.
