Very nice and thanks for sharing Mike. The inrush current you are measuring is a one-time non- repetitive signal present only at compressor start-up. How do you trigger your data logger to capture just the start up transient signal?
My newest data logger allows me to set a trigger threshold with a selectable pre-trigger capture time. So you can tell it to begin data capture 3 milliseconds or 3 seconds or 3 minutes (or whatever) before the desired trigger event. You can then tell it how long you want to capture data, then it can rearm itself waiting for the next high-current event trigger.
This is cool. As an engi-nerd as my DW calls me, I always want to know the what and why how things work. More info always gives me the understanding for future reference. Thanks in advance

PS. The info on amp inrush when starting an RV A/C unit is great info!

I also want to know everything works. And the more I know, the better I can troubleshoot failures.
This stuff is WAY over my head, but if you can get RV mfg's to use it to build safer units, good ON ya.
I’m already using this data to consult with several manufacturers… 😁
