I know it’s not helpful but I would take the trailer with me for the additional toilet and kitchen features

Just get a truck topper. You will be able to put a wood frame across in front of box. (Even better if you have a opening rear window in your truck. Window curtains. 12v motion detector lites. Add what comfort you want. Diesel heater, refrigerator, fan vent in roof. Cassette toilet, maybe solar panels, propane source. Think about, plan it out.

I’ve just put a cap on it, so that’s my third option!😁

Mike, In my 2014 F150 Supercab the rear doors can only be opened when the front doors were. Great for keeping the kids from getting out but could be tricky getting in and out of what you are proposing. Doug

I know that, but I think I’m skinny enough to make it work. We shall see…

Why not put a camper shell on your truck when you want to sleep in it? You’d have lots more room for gear too.

That’s my backup plan if this doesn’t work.

Buy a set of ventshades so you can leave the front windows cracked open. If you dont vent the cab it will be dripping from the ceiling by morning.

Hey, I put 400,000 miles on a Sprinter van, and I have to tow an RV trailer to shows. I don’t need another vehicle! 🤣🤣🤣

Mike, if it's cold enough that you need heat, you don't want to sleep on an air mattress, unless it's a specialty winter air mattress containing down or synthetic fiber insulation, or a foam-filled mattress like a ThermoRest. Ordinary air mattresses allow full circulation of the air within them, which provides no insulation and pretty much guarantees a cold, uncomfortable night.
