we did test the plug - I had shown him the diagram you sent, also had the multi meter you advised I buy, and he had his own as well. We tested the wiring. I don't know if it is best to buy the surge protector from the dealer - will call him this morning. I have messaged Techno RV about their gas stop product and looked at their surge protectors on their web site.
good timing - I am researching the surge protector device for my 30 AMP RV - should I buy it from the dealer when I pick up my rig ? Quite expensive piece - will initially be plugging into my newly installed 30 amp plug at my home off my garage once I get my RV home which should be in about 3 weeks. I would purchase the Surge Protector in advance and use it to test that new 30-amp outlet BEFORE bringing your RV home. It's possible for a residential electrician to miswire a TT-30 Receptacle with 240-volts instead of 120-volts, and that's an expensive mistake.
If I already have a good 50A surge protector and now have a 30A MH do I have to buy a 30A surge protector?
