Great article Mike! This sure fills a few gaps in my knowledge. The 3-wire ungrounded dryer outlet doesn’t sound like a very safe option but if it’s worked safely all these years, I guess there was no need to force people to upgrade to the grounded version.
Like you, I’ve known about the various pieces of the grounding puzzle for decades. But I’m now assembling all the pieces into an overview of grounding practices for RVs, EVs and appliances. This is important considering how many RV pedestals and L2 EV chargers are now being installed at residences.
