We never miss Krumpe's when traveling thru Hagerstown! Have the T-shirt! Typically park the rig & take the car in town to the shop. Never heard of Fasnachts, but their Donuts are unique.
Great start to the day -- Krumpe's & black coffee!
If in Clarksburg WV, find D'Annunzios pepperoni rolls in North View (some would argue for Tomaro's in Glen Elk). My 3 AM stop as a delinquent teenager. Great Italian heritage in North Central WV -- haven't found good pepperoni rolls anywhere else.
Where do I start? So many special treats come to mind that it’s hard to focus on one. On the sweet side is Ice cream. Many towns I have visited have a “best cream” store and often, they are very good. Some are amazing and even have lines often running out the door. On the savory side is sausage. Years ago, I discovered an absolutely amazing sausage shop called Lockeford Sausage which is in a tiny town in the Central Valley of California called Lockeford about 20 minutes northeast of Stockton. If you Google it, you will see pictures of the lines that often run out the door and around the block! The store is packed full of absolutely amazing varieties of home made sausage. I assume most of Mike’s readers have RVs and love to travel so there you go. Just make sure you have extra freezer space so you can take some sausage home with you!
I’m 50% Hungarian so this is what my grandma would make for us kids if we behaved ourselves.
Hungarian Pancake – Palacsinta
Hungarian pancakes are thin crepes, rolled up and sprinkled with powdered sugar. There are several things they can fill the palacsinta with, including apricot, strawberry or blueberry jam, vanilla or chocolate pudding, apple sauce with cinnamon, ground walnut, or cocoa powder.

Hm. We're used to Pączki - Polish/Kashubian/eastern European "filled" donuts, with prune preserve-filled my personal favorite and the hardest to find.
Are Fasnachts filled as well? A little hard to tell from the pix
Not filled, but very dense…
BTW - "Pączki " is pronounced "POON-shki" in American
