Silicone wedding rings!! Not just because they don’t conduct electricity but they also don’t pinch between my fingers when I am gripping a tool tightly!
I bought one of these last year while they had a 30% off coupon. Use it exclusively wehn I an working around batteries and things electric. I also put heat shrink on a 1/4" X 3" extension for the same reason.
Harbor Freight only makes composite ratchet wrenches that I’ve seen. It’s basically a steel wrench handle coated with a composite plastic material for electrical insulation.
There are insulated open-end/combo wrenches from other companies, but they’re quite expensive.
They have made them for years, we used them in the power plant when working on the station battery banks. It’s disastrous to short out a 12 volt battery however our battery banks are 230 volt DC with each cell the size of 2 carry on suit cases combined (takes 6 of them to make 12 volts), the fault current is unbelievable. A quick look on the web shows a 3/8” box end selling for $3.19
I bought one of the HFT 3/8" composite ratchets soon after they became available, which I believe was several years ago. I love it! It's one of my "go-to" ratchets, especially when working on or around electricity. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
I have wrapped my ratchet, socket, box wrench and screw driver used for connecting the batteries with electrical tape. Also remove the ring

This is a great idea along with not wearing any jewelry on your hands.

Said before…silicone ring for work. Gold ring for date night!
Great idea! Thanks for sharing! Do they makes composite sockets or just ratchet handles? What about combination end wrenches?
