Every generator is equipped with an indicator for when maintenance is due - it will stop making noise.
To remedy from this state, simply replace the part shown on the box.
It is hard to keep track of hour usage for maintenance on generators. Reason why when I purchased the Honda EU2200, I had the dealer install an hour meter on the generator, inexpensive but very usefull for me.
Good point! All my pro-level generators have hour meters, but none of my consumer generators have one.
I'm a bit of a geek. I install a V/A/W/Hr panel meter on all my gennies.
