Everyone,
While my wife and I were running into Lowe’s last year to grab a few things, we noticed a small Memorial Day display in the corner of the parking lot right beside the Veteran’s parking spot.
I do understand the difference between Veterans Day on November 11 and Memorial Day which is the last Monday in May. Veterans day is for all those who served in the Armed Forces, but Memorial day is for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving.
So Linda and I stood for a moment in front of this tiny memorial and talked about the ultimate sacrifice made by these brave men and women. I’ve never been in the military, so I don’t know this firsthand. But I do realize that freedom isn’t free, and today we honor all those who paid the ultimate price
While there will be lots of parades today honoring the fallen, I’ll always remember this simple parking lot display honoring all U.S. military personnel who died while serving
Same thing at my Lowes (North Texas). Nearly cried when I saw it, as a recent Reverend (and Retired Sailor) I immediately knelt down and prayed. We lost a few Sailors during my deployments 😔
Also noted that the Walmart across the street from that Lowes has a Missing Man/Fallen Comrade Table setup under their wall of Veteran workers' photos setup near the exit.
Very touching!
Must be something all the Lowe’s are doing. Very similar setup here in Texas. Good for Lowe’s.
