Traffic Ticket Scam!
Don’t fall for texts or emails that falsely claim you owe money for unpaid tickets and threaten to suspend your license or registration
Everyone,
I’ve been getting these text messages about fake traffic tickets lately. And yes, they’re all completely bogus. So never respond or send money. If you do have questions about an outstanding traffic ticket, contact your local police department directly. Never click a link that was emailed or texted to you.
Maryland (MVA) Final Notice: Enforcement Begins July 2
Our records show that as of today, you still have an outstanding traffic ticket. Pursuant to Maryland Administrative Code 15C-16.003, if you fail to pay by July 1, 2025, we will take the following actions:
1. Report to the MVA Violation Database
2. Suspend your vehicle registration effective July 1
3. Suspend driving privileges for 30 days
4. Go to a toll booth and pay a 35% service fee
5. You may be prosecuted and your credit score will be affected

Yup, it’s all fake!
Let’s play safe out there… Mike
I live in California and get text messages all the time saying I drove in a toll lane and owe money. The scammers never stop. Who are these people?
They are doing it with notices about tolls as well.
