What RV electricity topics are you most interested in?
I need your input on what courses should be included in my proposed RVelectricity Academy
Everyone
As you may know, I’ve been a technology instructor for 25+ years and an adjunct professor for over a decade. So it’s time that I start offering on-line RVelectricity courses for both RV technicians and owners.
Essentially, I want to build an Online RVelectricity Academy with formal courses, grading and hands-on instruction. Don’t worry, I intend to keep this free daily newsletter going and add a library site to start organizing the 425+ articles I’ve already published here.
But launching an Online Academy will take hundreds of hours of work on my part just to develop the basic structure and content, plus I’ll need to hire a webmaster to keep the website running properly. And I would like to eventually add other instructors to this online training program.
However, it’s going to take a lot of time and money to launch! So this level of training will have to be charged for, just like your local tech or trades school. And while I may be able to offset some of the costs with grants from RV manufacturers and associations, I’m not optimistic that it will be 100% paid for by the industry.
I need your input on RVelectricity Academy!
Are you currently or want to become an RV technician or Inspector?
If you’re an RV owner, what type of electricity courses would you be interested in taking online?
While some of this content will be free, the majority of the courses will need to be paid for. But I’ll develop multi-tier payment levels for students, RV owners and technicians.

Thanks for your input…. Mike
DC to DC chargers are a game changer for rvers. Installing a DC to DC charger can allow an rver to keep their battery charged & negate the need for a noisy, messy, gas generator on many rving trips. The upfront cost is relatively high, but the installation is not that difficult. I'm 78 years old & am installing one now in our truck camper that we close to full time in. I was initially intimidated by the idea of them, but after some research & talking to a Redarc customer service tech, I realized I could install one myself. Teaching rvers how to install one would be a great service & could help to eliminate many, noisy gas generators from campgrounds.
I'm interested in advanced sessions listed above, Inverter systems, generator systems/maintenance and installation/maintenance of solar systems with lithium batteries.
