UK Plug Adapter Correction!
Hey Mike,
Loel said that he's taking an extended trip to the UK - where the plugs look NOTHING like those in Europe. Loel will need a different plug adapter to go from US to UK.
Sincerely, Dick T
UK Plug Adapter Correction!
Oops! Yesterday I accidentally posted the outlet adapter from my trip to Italy. And I should know better since I’ve run the original AC/DC (the rock group) sound system for over a decade, and everything was 230-volts with UK plugs for stage power.
Here’s a chart showing the variety of electrical outlets outside of the USA.
Here’s the adapter Loel needs for a UK trip
As you noted these adapters don’t reduce voltage, they only change the outlet style and pass 230 volts (or whatever) on through. And most modern low-power devices like laptop computer power supplies are universal voltage, so they’ll automatically adjust for anything from 100 to 240 volts. I like this adapter shown above because it also charges USB devices. Find it on Amazon HERE.

There are a number of small dual-voltage hair dryers that will work on 120 or 220-240V, with just a flip of a switch. In many cases, the 240V operation will be limited to one heat setting.
I have one of these. Prepared for almost everywhere.
