My new videos on multimeter usage
I just finished a 4-part video on how to use a digital multimeter, which I’m releasing on Christmas Eve!
Everyone,
I’m wrapping up editing a new video on multimeter usage. It’s a four part class covering how to measure AC Voltage, DC Voltage, Resistance, and Amperage with a standard digital multimeter.
I’ll be posting Part A of the video (Measuring AC Voltage) on Christmas Eve, so if you want to follow along using the same meter that I’m using in the video, you can get this Southwire 3-meter kit at many big box stores or on Amazon for around $30.
You can purchase this meter kit using my Amazon affiliate link HERE.
And you can rewatch this video anytime after Christmas, so don’t worry if you had too much eggnog Christmas Eve. Just grab your multimeter and follow along!
Or BYOM (Bring Your Own Meter)
No need to purchase this meter if you already have one. The video and PowerPoint are generic enough that you can use practically any digital multimeter for the session. But you need to have a meter of some sort so you can practice on your own.
Let’s play safe out there… Mike

This will be a great resource for folks Mike! It would also be great if you included a segment on troubleshooting and what happens if you connect the meter incorrectly such as by setting the dial to Ohms and connecting to 120V AC or 12 V DC or connecting either of these voltages to the 10 A input. (and how to change the fuse). Also of interest is how much current the meter puts out when measuring Ohms.
