Everything I've posted about hot-skin voltage!
Wow, I've written a lot about hot-skin causes, dangers, troubleshooting and mitigation. Read it all below...
Here’s everything I’ve posted about hot-skin voltage…
You had a lot of comments and questions about my recent article on Surge Protectors preventing hot-skin voltage. As promised, here’s what I’ve posted on hot-skin theory so far. And yes, I’m doing much deeper level studies on RV and Marine grounding failures that cause hot-skin shocks and Electric Shock Drowning.
A few quick answers:
I’ll post in-depth articles on a few of these topics next week…
A pedestal mounted EMS Surge Protector can’t detect a broken ground conductor in the shore cable or inside of an RV
50-amp EMS/Advanced Surge protectors from Southwire Surge Guard and Hughes Watchdog can detect and disconnect your RV from an open neutral downstream of their location
No, reversed Hot-Neutral polarity by itself will not cause a hot-skin voltage, as long as the rest of the RV wiring is correct
There’s a lot of good reasons why the Neutral and Ground conductors in an RV must remain isolated from each other to prevent multi-path neutral currents

Use a meter to avoid getting shocked and possibly killed….
Read these three (maybe four) articles and all will be revealed...
…discovered this wiring mistake can be a hot-skin fault current source

Can overhead power lines create a hot-skin voltage on an RV?
Here's the basics of how and why hot-skin voltages happen on an RV...
It’s caused by a little known, but very dangerous, campground wiring failure!
Does reverse polarity, flipped battery cables, or a missing ground rod cause you to feel a shock?
Yes, you can get a shock from your RV even when it's not plugged into shore power!
It’s the easiest way to find a hot-skin voltage condition….
