Battleborn Update...
I'm officially asking BB for an interview with me to get some answers
Everyone,
There were lots of comments and questions about my Battleborn battery article last week featuring two Will Prowse videos on a battery terminal overheating issue. This was about an apparent battery design that loosened the internal terminal connection which was supposed to limit current and prevent meltdown.
And I was very proud that all of you had relevant posts that focused on identifying the problem and finding a solution, and not just bashing BB with unsubstantiated accusations like so many social media rants.
Read that article and watch the Will Prowse videos HERE.
I’ve met a few BB field engineers at RV shows, so I’m sending them (and Battleborn corporate) an invite to do a written or video interview with me where I ask the questions most relevant to identifying what happened.
I want to get answers to the following…
Does Battleborn consider the Will Prowse video a fair test or clickbait?
Which models and years of BB batteries had this design?
Has BB identified any installation issues that could have caused the terminal connection to internally arc and overheat?
Is BB aware of any fires caused by their batteries overheating?
Has there ever been a BB recall due to a loose terminal connection?
Was the BB help desk giving official answers about this design?
Has BB changed its help desk responses since the Will Prowse videos?
What’s the best way for a consumer to identify if their BB batteries have a loose internal terminal connection?
Who should you contact at BB if your battery exhibits overheating or intermittent charging current when wiggling the positive terminal?
Let’s play safe out there… Mike

Question: If this is indeed a feature and not a design failure, when this feature "activates" will Battleborn replace the battery if it happens during the warranty period?
Mike, Do you plan to do any testing yourself on these batteries? Chuck
