Everyone,
While my wife and I were running into Lowe’s yesterday to grab a few things, we noticed a small Memorial Day display in the corner of the parking lot right beside the Veteran’s parking spot.
I do understand the difference between Veterans Day on November 11 and Memorial Day which is the last Monday in May. Veterans day is for everyone who served in the military, but Memorial day is for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
So Linda and I stood for a moment in front of this tiny memorial and talked about the ultimate sacrifice made by these brave men and women. I’ve never been in the military, so I don’t know this firsthand. But I do realize that freedom isn’t free, and today we honor all those who paid the ultimate price
While there will be lots of parades today honoring the fallen, I’ll always remember this simple parking lot display honoring all U.S. military personnel who died while serving
Thanks Mike, remember all those who never made it home.
Thanks for sharing.
