Here’s a question from yesterday‘s post about generator bonding.
Hey Mark,
Great question… Only one bonding plug is required. But because the parallel kits on many of these generator parallel kits aren’t color coded, you might create a reverse hot/neutral polarity on the parallel output.
You can check for that condition with a 3-light tester and mark your parallel kit wires with colored e-tape to standardize your parallel generator hookups.

The bonding is understood. What is the correct way to use the grounding lug on the face of the generator? 1-Ignore, 2-tie it to a grounding rod, 3-tie to house ground using a plug, with only ground wire attached? In my case I only use extension cords for a 2000 watt inverter gasoline generator.
