GM 2500/3500 HD Truck Trailer Brake Update
There is an updated TSB out for 2020 and 2024 GM HD trucks only…
For those of you with a 2020 or 2024 GM HD 2500/3500 Series Truck
There is an updated TSB out for 2020 and 2024 GM HD 2500/3500 trucks only. As this is not a recall, you may not get a notice, and the no charge repair is time limited to August 2026.
For anyone that does not know what this is, this is when the trailer brake control shuts off due to excess voltage (often with a solar package with Lithium Batteries, but not always).

Let’s play safe out there… Mike
Mike - if the issue is caused by higher voltage feeding into the truck's electrical system, a battery combiner could theoretically be used to separate the 2 systems. Victron has such a device: https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Datasheet-Argo-Diode-Battery-Combiners-EN.pdf. This solution might be useful for trucks not covered under the TSB but are having the issue regardless.
